SD card unexpected removed message / Razr Maxx HD

I keep getting this message "SD Card Unexpectedly Removed" when I take the phone out from my pocket.

I see the bar has backed out of the phone, I keep having to push it back in.

Being that I've only had this phone less than 3 months it should be covered under warranty?

Is this a known issue that maybe there is an easy fix?

TIA

Push the SDcard all the way in until you feel it click into place before you close the door.  If you cannot push it in far enough with your fingernail use the SDcard tool or a similar small flat, pointy tool (e.g. a paper clip, but be very careful with a metal object).  If the SDcard will not snap into place either your SDcard or the phone's SDcard holder is damaged.

The Moto Razr Maxx HD has a bug. Could be hardware or firmware.

I've been through 2 phones and 4 SD cards to try and make the problem go away. But, it does not.

I absolutely love this phone, but this issue has ruined everything for me.

Hello Motorola, Verizon !!!

It is easy to duplicate the issue:

1. Install an SD card

2. Load RDIO App

3. Before logging in set the storage location to the SD Card

4. Start syncing a lot of music

5. Voilà

Same issue here.  I had them put in my SD card from my Droid X in the store.  Had some pics and docs on it.  Several days later, it gave me the message.  I can't even format it now, not even in my PC.  It appears to have ruined it.  Not sure if I should bother with another one right now from what I've read on this post.  Hate to waste the money if it's going to screw up another one.  My bar hasn't backed out and it's been in the Otter case the whole time.

Try breezex post. it is great advice.

Sometimes the sd card is locked which if you take the micro sd out and put it in a sd reader slieve make sure the write enable on the adapter is set to on. Then try to format it again. It should show up as an external drive right click on it select format. Most phones cannot be formatted othere than Fat 32 or NTFS but it will choose on its own. see this link.

I got a new replacement phone because of this issue - new phone has the same issue reading the SD card - even though the SD card can be read fine on other devices and on my computer.   I had my phone for 5 months before this issue occurred.  Moved pics onto my computer and then reformatted SD card..we'll see if that helps.

The corruption occurred after a Verizon update...not sure if it was related...but nothing else changed.

So happy to find this thread -  I thought I was crazy!  My razr maxx HD has the same exact issue - it ate one card already, totally fried it and I purchased a replacement card and again I am getting the SD card unmounted unexpectedly ! error.  I have rebooted and reset several times and it is always snug in a case and I never drop or jar it. I think it is just a fatal flaw with this phone that I love in every other way.  There are no other decent phones out there that still have SD slots which is the reason why I chose this phone.  So upsetting.
