I did an automatic phone update about a week ago. Ever since, my text messaging is not working properly. A notice frequently shows up on my screen when I am in the middle of a text that states "unfortunately, messaging has stoppped working". I have no other option than to click "ok" and then it closes the app. I also have not been receiving all of my text messages from other people. Amazon kindle was saying the same thing "Amazon kindle has stopped working" until I deleted the app. Any suggestions? I have tried turning the phone off.

@keukalaker,
I appreciate you trying our suggestion, and thank you for keeping us posted! Text messaging is my main means of communication so I totally understand how frustrating it is when it's not working properly.
In many cases it is recommended to perform a hard reset http://vz.to/1snZT1L after major software updates. I know this can be inconvenient, but a necessary step. Some 3rd party apps may no longer be compatible with the new software and can cause issues with the phone. Make sure you turn off auto restore so the 3rd party apps are not automatically restored after the hard reset http://vz.to/1otdC4R. Test the phone without any 3rd party apps, and add them back one at a time so you can see which one may be causing the issues. Keep us posted if you need further assistance.

Hi Keukalaker,
I apologize you're having issues with your device after the update. Are you using a text messaging app? Have you tried safe mode? Here's the steps http://vz.to/1qc55Uu. Give it a try and post back with the results and further details.
Thank you!

Hello,
I tried my phone in safe mode. It didn't help. After reading several other posts from other customers, it seems that several people are having trouble with receiving and sending texts and pictures ever since they did the last mandatory upgrade as I did. No one has been able to provide a solution. Changing SIM cards, deleting all previous text messages, ect. has not worked.

This is happening to me as well. Started about a week ago, and now shuts down constantly. I am not receiving texts and must type quickly or this error message will come up while texting. It has happened at least 10 times in the last hour. I would prefer not to do a hard reset.
This is the original text messaging program that came with the program not a 3rd party app. Please advise.

Did you do the factory data reset? Make sure you save data first. It wipes the internal storage
