Turbo 2 speaker arrangement question

I know the Turbo 2 front-facing speakers do stereo, but I'm not clear on a few things....

  1. I assume the split speaker (with the Verizon check mark in-between) below the vertical screen will play stereo sounds from those two speakers when you're viewing video with the screen vertically upright.  Is that correct?
  2. If 1 is true, does the top speaker above the screen remain silent or does it do something fancy like act as a sub-woofer ( )?
  3. When viewing video horizontally (widescreen), I'm sure that the "top" speaker (left speaker) plays left channel, but how does the split speaker on the right come into play?  Does only 1 of the 2 speakers there actually play (perhaps boosted to match volume of the bigger left speaker)?  Or maybe both play, but slightly dampened to match?

Great front-facing stereo sound is important to me, so I'd really like to understand what the Turbo 2 brings....

I don't want to sound ignorant, but I doubt that the Verizon staff who post comments in this forum will know the answer or even respond.

Check this review on the Turbo 2......Motorola Droid Turbo 2 review  It is quite detailed, but scroll down to the "Performance and Hardware" section and you will find your answer. Only the bottom right grill is a speaker.

Like you, I enjoy nice stereo sound and unfortunately one small speaker such as this will not provide that.

Good luck.

Wow, they make you think you're getting two or three speakers, but they only give you ONE!  No stereo available without headphones!  That's ridiculous in such an expensive unit.

I had already compromised on my desire for a waterproof phone, but lousy sound, too?  Not a chance.  Looking more and more like I'll have to go somewhere besides Verizon for a true premium phone.....

Yes, you're exactly correct. I have the original Turbo and the speaker on the back is even worse. I am now spoiled as I bought a Nexus 6 after the Turbo and two weeks ago I got the Nexus 6P. Both of those have stereo speakers on the front. I couldn't go back to a phone with a single small speaker.

There are tons of video review on Youtube. It doesn't have dual front speakers like its siblings Moto XPE or Neuxs 6.
