Very Disapointed in phone and Verizon

My wife and I have both have had this phone for almost a year.  We have been with Verizon for close to 15 years and this by far is the worst phone we have ever owned.  The problem is very slow/sluggish performance.  I have tried everything possible from cleaning cache often to performing a factory rest and running clean master before every use.  The problem with this phone is it comes with 1G of Ram and in standalone mode, the RAM is 75% or more utilized before you even try to use the phone.  This is also the case when starting the phone up in safe mode.  I have spent a combined of 3 hours or more on the phone with Verizon but their only solution was to push the edge program which I am not a fan of renting a phone.  Even after being a customer for so long and have fulfilled every contract, they refused to give us a different phone.  They suggested replacing the phone with another of the same thing which is pointless.  Even thought we have been pleased with Verizon in the past, this may cause us to switch to a different provider.  Verizon apparently doesn't care that their long time customer is unhappy.  I would welcome the opportunity to speak with someone at Verizon who can help.
