Why did my Motorola Razr Maxx HD cut off and won't come back on?

It just shut off, but the battery was only about half drained. After charging it, I have been trying to start it back by pressing the power button but nothing happens.

Try pressing the power button and the volume down button together for up to 30 seconds - it's a long time, but it may get the phone started again.

mine has started doing this about every other week now.  For no reason at all it just crashes.  can't get it to turn back on with out following the method SuzyQ mentioned.  sometimes it takes about 30 seconds too, sometimes a little quicker.
