I have been having trouble all day with my RAZR. I am currently on the 4G network and the signal strength and 4GLTE logo are both blue. However, when I try to use an app or the browser only the "UP" arrow under the 4G logo is lighting up. From what I understand this means my phone is sending data. The "Down" arrow is not lighting up so I assume this means it is not receiving data. Does anyone know what will cause this to happen? I am nowhere near the top 5% of data users to where my data would be throttled.

My experience is that sometimes the data has outages for reasons that are not apparent to us mere mortals. It might have to do with heavy usage in that area or maybe solar eruptions - I don't know.
You can try the usual toggle airplane mode on and off, or a reboot. You can also try putting it in 3G only mode by going to Menu>Settings>Wireless & Network>Mobile Networks> Network Mode and select CMA only. If you are in a marginal 4G area or if the 4G is having problems, this will prevent your phone from trying to connect to 4G and instead have it connect to 3G.
If you are still having problems, I would suggest trying to boot it in Safe mode (which won't install your user apps) and seeing if that helps. If so, it's probably and app that's causing problems.
If none of this fixes it, I would try calling or visiting Verizon for assistance.

I am also wondering about this situation. My new Razr was set up Thursday(March 29). The data has given me fits ever since. I'm either fully connected with 4G and processing data rapidly or the phone won't connect to data. I have never had issues like this before with my phones. Since the phone is so new, I wonder is there is anything I can do or if it is a defect. Any others with similar issues?
Hello i also have data connection problems but mine seem to be more hotspot specific. My laptop only recognizes my razr 2 out of ten times and will only connect once out of that. Once connected its fast until a exclamation symbol pops up on my laptops signal strength saying limited access or no access. Ive tried thehard resets 3 in total ...2 different laptops and a ps3 with the same results. Im rapidly approaching the end of the 14 day period so i need afix or a phone that works Thanks Jesse
I don't know if my problem is exactly the same as drock1015 but I cannot seem to get a connection. I just got my Droid RAZR and cannot see to connect to the internet either with WIFI or 4G. I have connected to my homes WIFI but still nothing. I guess I assumed if not WIFI it would automatically connet through 4G but doesn't seem to be the case. What am I missing? Can anyone help?
Spacechic - I just got my phone on Friday 3/30, and am having the same problem. The tech I spoke to wasn't familiar with the problem. It seems that I have to manually choose to use either WiFi or 3 or 4G - the phone can't figure it out. I've never had this problem with any other phones, and I assume it's a setting issue, but I haven't been able to find it.
I am having similar problems. My RAZR keeps going "white" (no blue indicating a connection) and I have had a lot of problems connecting the last few days. I shouldn't have to keep turning the phone off and on to connect (toggling sleep mode does not help) and it is getting ridiculous. This is my 7th phone in the past year (two Thunderbolts, three Bionics, second RAZR) and I have had MANY problems but this is a new issue that I have not had before. I am now sitting in my office (in NY, and I always have a 4g connection here until yesterday, when it went in and out) but have no connection now.
Also, sometimes when I lose my connection, my phone cannot detect the SD card and I get an SD card error. Ever hear of that one?
I am having the same problems, I am in NYC, and will have full bars on LTE and the moment I actually need data it turns white. It's like some kind of sick joke. But from talking to other people it seems common at least in NYC. I am hoping the rumored ICS update today will fix it, keeping my fingered crossed it actually gets released on the 4th.
When it Turns white the phone is not locked in with the Google Servers an as for I.C.S they've got to see if it passes the soak Test first if does When it Does then we might see soon after that. What i'd say you need to do is Pull the Sim Card after turning off the Device for 5 min. then Re-Install it be careful not to touch the Gold area of the Sim as it is Sensitive to Static Electricity an the Oils in your Fingers. Then Re-Power the Device an See if works a little Better..
It might be that your in a Area that has Sporadic Signal it's there but then again it's not. Does your phone work when your in other Areas of the City or is this an issue your Seeing happen when you travel as Well... B33
