Remove the email account from the phone and verify the mobile server settings and add the account again.

Thanks – the Droid has laid an egg, and we are waiting for a new one to be shipped. May have the Verizon store give us a hand with it and see if that helps….otherwise I’ll try your suggestion and let you know!
