circles - where'd they go?

I have a RAZR MAXX HD. This morning I found all 3 circle widgets hung up and not functioning. I rebooted and now they don't show at all. I went to settings>apps>all and the circles app is there and is enabled, but it does not show up at settings>apps>running. So how do I turn them back on? Thanks.

Circles is not an app, but a widget.

If you go into your app drawer and select widgets, it should be listed in there. You can then re-add it to your home screen.
