cannot get photos and videos to transfer from my phone to my computer.

Have you pulled down the notification shade and changed the USB mode to File Transfer?

When I pull down the shadow there is nothing about the USB.

Depending on how many notifications you have open, you may need to scroll down to see it.  If it's still not there, have you tried a different USB port or USB cable?
