Does anyone know if there is a way to change the 10-digit dialing requirement for the Digital phone service back to 7 digits for local calls. We were not aware this was a "requirement" for the digital phone package and frankly my wife is ready to kill me for switching.
Thanks,
Bob

10 digit dialing is a requirement of Digital Voice.

We switched 6 months ago from Vonage to Digital Phone and at first it was a pain but honestly now its not a big deal. Most of our calls are done with stored numbers in the phone so I simply added the area code to each number. It does take some time to get used to but many providers are moving to 10 digit dialing.

I've seen luck with getting Verizon to move phones from 10 digit dialing to 7 digit dialing. That may have however been a move from Digital Voice to Freedom Essentials back when Verizon still allowed folks onto that. But Digital Voice is pretty much strictly 10 digit dialing. Some newer phones have the ability to automatically prefix in an area code, so if Verizon can't help you can certainly take a look at what your phone can do.
