Changing from Verizon copper line to FIOS Digital Voice

We had two copper telephone lines, and both were with Verizon service.  On 8/24/2010, we switched the primary number to fiber (Freedom Essentials) and left the 2nd phone line on copper service.  On 9/3/2010, we switched the primary line from Freedom Essentials to FiOS Digital Voice.  We had requested that the 2nd line also be switched to FiOS Digital Voice.  However, the 2nd line was disconnected and not reconnected to FiOS Digital Voice.  After many, many phone calls to Verizon, a technician called me today to tell me he had successfully transferred the 2nd phone number to FiOS Digital Voice.  I dialed the number from work, and it did ring through.  However, it did not ring at the house.  (My husband said the telephone did not ring.)  When we pick up the phone, the line is still dead.  So, I am not sure where the 2nd line is "ringing" but it is not at our house.  Any thoughts on what to do next or what is causing the problem?

I had a similar problem switching a copper line to Digital Voice. It took 3 days and 5 techs to sort it out and I still don't know what the problem involved. Something about "crossed orders" I think. And having to wait till the "orders cleared". Hang in there.

I finally got a person on the phone who was persistent enough to realize that a technical person needed to be dispatched to our address to look at the problem.  They got someone over to our house in about 4 hours.  A MIRACLE!  He moved the copper wire to another connection and VOILA, we had a dialtone, and the phone service worked on the second line.  It took several days to get all of this resolved, but the problem occurred over Labor Day weekend.  Have to cut them some slack.
