As the subject says, this guys home phone is down and has been for several months. He tried scheduling a repair but the automated computer system said it wouldn't send anyone, something about Covid. He's going to end up cancelling his service. And apparently it's NOT just one customer. It's a remote place in Tionesta, PA. He said multiple people in the area are having the same problem, and apparently they're all getting ready to switch vendors and go to cell phones only. May want to check out the lines in that area.
