I recently had a similar situation with Verizon Landline Phone, over Copper, no Fiber Optic here.
Technicians were scheduled to come out to look at our lines and modify if needed to get service.
Verizon gave me a link to track when the Technicians were coming, once they never showed up, it said they were delayed. A family member called and Verizon told him that our service is up and running, no need for Techs. I don't even get a Dial Tone. No phone line here.
I also specificly told them I wanted the Technicians to check and see if I could get DSL. We are off a DSLAM so I asked that they check the CO to see if there is room.
I got NONE of this...
