I recently had to downgrade my Verizon long-distance landline plan from $40 due to some family financial issues. I spoke with 3 representatives via Verizon chat who promised that, with all fees and taxes, my monthly bill would be right about $20. Last month, the bill was about $24, and this month my bill is going to be $27. I contacted customer service again on 3/26 to find out what happened, and the agent (Deborah) simply repeatedly told me that that "is what Verizon charges" and made no attempt to look into the issue that I kept this line because it fit within an extremely tight budget at $20.
$7 extra a month doesn't seem like a lot until you're scraping for funds to care for someone with a slow illness.
I really would feel more comfortable knowing I have a clear landline to 911.
We live in a very rural area and do not have cell reception.
Verizon, please tell me that you can honor the original $20 cost quote shown below.
