Need Verizon repair to contact me

I have spent the better part of the day trying to contact Verizon about my phone issues. Several times I called and their system has hung up on my. I have no dial tone now because it shows "line in use". Please fix this problem and the initial reason for contacting which was my voicemalil box shows as having amessage, but there are no new messages in the box. The irritating beep beep beep when I try to dial out needs to go! PLEASE HELP!
