My home phone just upgraded to Fios recently. I don't have Internet service, just phone service. I noticed that the home phone is connected to RJ45 port of the ONT, not one of the two RJ11 ports of the ONT. Why is that ?
Thanks,
Ching-HO

Verizon Digital Voice service is supplied by the small 6p4c (RJ11) jacks on the ONT. If you unplug the cable connected to the Ethernet jack on the ONT, and you lose telephone service, then you are subscribed to a VoIP service. 🙂
