Recording a Football team series?

I would like to record a certain college football team, yet when I search on their name set that instance to record and then update it to record the series, it switches to "College Football" series and I get every college game from every chanel.  All I want to record is "Texas Tech" is it possible to do this and if not this needs to be added feature.

I also have a series set up to record Nascar, first time only events and yet once I erase the previous race it records it again.

For now, you need a TiVo if you want that.  Here's an example of a recording you can setup on TiVo:

 

This will record all new Redskins games, regardless of whether they are on FOX, CBS, ESPN, etc, and store them in a separate folder, as seen below:

So.... does the TIVO replace the STB from Verizon? 

I agree Verizon needs to really step up their programming skills, Dish and DirecTV is way ahead of them on the recording features and Guide and Search features.  I must say though that Verizon is way ahead as far as On Demand so I guess like others have said there must be a trade off and I will suffer the search function for the other features.

Yes, with the caveat that it does not support VOD or widgets - and on the plus side it gets its own guide data (not Verizon's)

The TiVo Wish List is very nice indeed.  This would be an excellent feature addition If there was any way possible FiOS could offer it.
