Simultaneous Calls

This is super strange and I have no clue where to start. Last night I received calls from my mother, who has a recently purchased Tracphone, newer phone number. I have an iPhone 13. Anyway, I answered and she asked why I was calling, but she was calling me, which she says she was not. It continued to happen to the point I had to block her calls so I could get some sleep. We both were receiving calls from each other, but neither of us were calling each other! Sometimes I would just get a quick ring and that number would hang up. We had problems when she was with Spectrum and someone hijacked her account, hence why we bought her a Tracphone as a temporary solution. Does anyone have any clues to what could be causing this. Because of the hacking history I am fearful this is malicious, that someone is behind this. One of the calls I answered from her nobody was talking, but I could hear noise in the background and I swear this was not my mother, and it was eerily similar to the old hacker days. Nobody has her new Trackphone number and it's not tied to her name either, so not sure how that new number or account could have been hacked as well. Nothing I could see on her Trackphone account that alludes to hacking, and nothing I can see here on my Verizon account as well.

Is it possible that both of the telephone numbers are being spoofed? 🤔
