I have been trying to make out going calls and if there are places that do not accept a private number it is a pain. I have tried *87 but it doesn't help.
Does anyone know how to shut the private off permanently on a phone
You do not indicate if you have FIOS Landline or Digital Voice.

I am wondering, about our new service. The telephone does not ring on incoming calls. Is it possible that we still have the old line which allows making telephone calls. Where would the call be going if NOT digital? We had FiOS installed on Thursday (Virginia) and calls coming in are all going (eventually) to voice mail box, none to the actual equipment connected to same line.
You are going to need to call them. Doesn't make sense the Tech would leave without verifying all is working.
