I have it set up that my caller id displays on my TV. In the last couple of weeks the phone will ring and my own phone number shows up beginning with E ###-###-####. I answer it and nothing on the other end.
Did you accidentally enable call forwarding or simulteanous ring?
I have had the same thing. It is obviously being spoofed, a common practice by telemarketers (commercial, political, and charities) to hide their true identity. I just ignore it as there is nothing I can do to stop them.
Mine was doing that also and then I discovered that I had the "Voice Mail Screening" turned on. Once I turned it off it stopped.
