Collections even though Gateway was returned

I was a Verizon customer for several years using the 5G Home Internet service and opted to cancel service at the end of December. I went down to the Verizon store on January 6th to return my Gateway and after about 30 minutes of trying the Rep apologized and explained he could not return the gateway, that he would have a return label sent to me and I could then return the gateway that way. I eventually received the label and I did return the gateway about 3  weeks later when I received a reminder letter. I confirmed it was delivered on March 5 (UPS tracking#1ZB349710620846291)4; however, around mid-March, I started getting phone calls from MRS BPO LLC Collection agency regarding a "Verizon Wireless" matter. After a few attempts, I finally did get a live person on the phone. I explained the situation to them but they insisted the only thing they could do was the lower the amount 'past due' of $214 to about $185 to settle the matter. I explained that giving Verizon $185 on top of having returned their gateway would amount to unjust enrichment and there was no way I would do that. I am reaching out in the hopes that someone at Verizon can reach out to me directly to address this. Several calls to customer service have been unsuccesful since my account has already been removed from the system.
