So about a year ago I went into a Verizon store near my home to inquire about the possibility of switching services from AT&T to Verizon Wireless. The in-store representative convinced me to go ahead and make the switch and if I was dissatisfied with the service the most I'd be charged would be an activation fee of $30 dollars. I had service with Verizon for (3) days and wasn't satisfied with the service so I chose another provider. I went as far as to go into the store and inform the representative who again assured me, not to worry about being charged because I was still technically paying AT&T. Much to my surprise I have multiple collection companies coming after me for $150. I had service with Verizon for 3 days and with no active communication from Verizon I was a victim of defamation and slander. I work in Financial Services industry and collections can be enforced as automatic termination. It stands to reason if I can't handle my own finances, offering Financial advice to others can be revoked. I'd have gladly paid a termination fee to Verizon for the time the representative spent with me to activate the phone. I was lied to by the in-store representative to earn commission associated with me starting service with Verizon. I brought my own phone signed no contract and cancelled within 3 days of activating service. I have multiple collection companies holding the same debt reporting multiple times to my credit report dramatically decreasing my credit score and potentially leading to my termination and financial ruin. Verizon Wireless is guilty of Slander, Defamation, and Blatant Lies.
