Second account setup without notice

Hello I’d like to write a letter to the CEO regarding second erroneous account that was recently written off without my knowledge, without me ever opening this account. House recovery is now trying to extort me to pay $1584.64 and have added a negative credit to my credit report.  I only found out about the second account this year. I never signed any paperwork to open it, never received an email about it, never received a paper bill or letter about it - for nearly a year.  The only way I found out was that I tried to open a second line on my actual account. Then the in store rep asked if I ever had an account that I didn’t pay for. They also said the “free phones” mailed to me were now marked as stolen property. And since it took me so long to realize (that someone at Verizon opened a second account without my knowledge) they could not fix it. I could pay the nearly $1600 to correct it - get it off my credit and get a second line.

Meanwhile the security of my loves one is at risk so I will need to hug a prepaid phone to protect this person from not having access to a phone. In 2023 you can’t ask people to borrow phones without inherent risk.

so not only has Verizon compromised my credit and my honor, but now the safety of a child of their loyal customer.

it’s quite sickening.
Be careful. If Verizon makes a mistake they will not take responsibility nor be accountable, instead they will charge you exorbitantly to correct and then repeatedly say “sorry, but”.
