I continue to receive phone calls from "unavailable" numbers (usually recordings soliciting for donations to charities etc.). My call intercept is on. WHY are these calls getting through? I just received a voicemail with pre-recorded message for a donation. Anyone?

Hello Stuwart182,
Have you set up and enabled the feature yet?
You can find set up information on this link: http://www22.verizon.com/ResidentialHelp/Phone/Calling+Features/Call+Intercept/Questions+and+Answers...
Turning Call Intercept on or off Call toll-free 1-800-527-7070 to turn Call Intercept on or off.
There are several features which are not compatible with call intercept which will not overlap and will need to be disabled or removed. Let us know if you need any further information or assistance.
Thanks

My intercept is ON, I already have 12 numbers on my block list, CLEARLY I have set up the feature through 1-800-527-7070 and it is ON. Got another "private" phone call today from a charity.

I too have Call Intercept and it does not block ALL calls as promised. Have it turned ON. Verizon only allows you to "block" 25 numbers. Those of us who are paying extra for the Call Intercept should have "unlimited" use to block these "unavailable" or "private" phone numbers. The Call Intercept does NOT block all these calls either. I pay for this extra service, I would expect it work as promised without the hassle of having to add certain phone numbers to a "block" list that limits you to 25.

Just a reminder to make sure you do not have anonymous call rejection enabled. Call Intercept will not work properly if anonymous call rejection (*77) is active. If you want to be sure ACR is disabled simply dial *87 and wait for the confirmation message that ACR is now off.

Why did Verizon get rid of Call Intercept in California but make it available in other states. This is very unfair. The system had it its flaws but was worth the price to keep the "Out of Area" calls from coming in.
