CALLER ID NOT WORKING ON LANDLINE

My caller ID was working great. Then it quit and the local Tech fixed it. Power/Phone went out now it wont work again. I unplugged and tested phones. Tech says protocols or credentials has to be reset but no one understands this when I call Repair. Im either not wording it correctly or Verizon doesn't care about its customers. Anyone have any ideas????
