Fios landline unable to call 800 numbers

Recently, I have been unable to dial certain 800 numbers. I get the message, "We're sorry, but your call cannot be completed at this time. Please hang up and try your call again later." However, when I use my mobile phone (not Verizon), the call goes right through. When I try the call again "later" on the landline, I get the same message.
I would appreciate any suggestions or ideas.
