Home service call

Had an appointment for service Monday 5/20/13 from 8am to 12pm. Got a text message Monday morning stating repair ticket was closed. Home phone problem seemed to be resolved, but I was never told that the service call was cancelled or not. Waited for technician to come, but one never showed. I was home all day. Why wasn't kept I informed of service situation?
