Never used home phone since installation 6 yrs ago..How do i hook it up

Some additional information would help to properly answer the question. Is the telephone service via Verizon Fios? If so, did the Verizon technician connect the telephone port on the ONT to the in-house telephone wiring? 

If this is, indeed, Fios, could pictures of the ONT and the connections be uploaded so I can see how things look? ๐Ÿค”
