No Dialtone - Great DSL - My Callers reach someone else

The sickness speaks for itself:

Saw a Verizon truck outside my NYC apartment

Noticed my Verizon HSI was working better than EVER (10 years)!!!

Normal 1.1 download; now 2.2 download

Went to use Verzion landline phone but no dialtone

(So how am I still connected to internet?)

When I dial my landline from my cell I get a different home 

(The voicemail states a different number than what I dialed)

A reverse number look-up traced to a home/apt approx. 25 blocks away

But I'm scared to complain because FINALLY my HSI is working GREAT!

And I'm scared to turn off the modem because w/ no dialtone who knows if I will be able to reconnect

I am so sick of this

I am so sick of Verizon

Note: Over the past two months I have had two home tech visits because of horrible phone static and .4 download on my internet. But things had settled down for the past two weeks and I had finally achieved adequate service. And now this : HSI became Great and Telephone dialtone became a casualty of another Verizon misadventure.

Please contact Verizon and let them know the current state of your services so that someone can help resolve your issue.

Silly Me !!!

On Monday I did as you suggested and reported this problem to Verizon. They stated that a repair person would be dispatched on Friday. Today (Wed) I recieved the following text message from Verzion: Verizon test indicates the trouble with your telephone service is resolved.

Really ... REALLY ... NO!!!

STILL No dialtone; STILL Great DSL; and calls to my number STILL go to someone else's home.

How pathetic!

Any other Grand Suggestions ?

Your issue has been escalated to a Verizon agent. Before the agent can begin assisting you, they will need to collect further information from you.Please go to your profile page for the forum, and look in the middle, right at the top where you will find an area titled "My Support Cases". You can reach your profile page by clicking on your name beside your post, or at the top left of this page underneath the title of the board.
Under “My Support Cases” you will find a link to the private board where you and the agent may exchange information. This should be checked on a frequent basis as the agent may be waiting for information from you before they can proceed with any actions. Please keep all correspondence regarding your issue in the private support portal.
