Have you tried going to the Contact Us page and using the live chat feature to see if they can report the problem for you?

Where are you located?  I had the same problem one day after a particularly heavy rain (about 2 weeks ago).  Resolved itself after a day (without rain).  Maybe connected, maybe not.

The problem with your phone did not go away it just dried up and will come back, probably worse next time.  That's how Verizon fixes things these days, they hope they go away.  If they put the customer off long enough either the problem will "dry up" and go away or the customer will give up and either live with the problem or switch service providers.

I've had the same problem going on over a month now, and of course Verizon chooses to run its line test when the weather is clear and dry so of course there's no problem.  I call back when the line is out during the rain and they always say a tech will come out, of course when the weather is nice again.  This isn't rocket science, they should know by now this is a common problem and have a fix for it.

Im also having the same problem. A tech was supposed to come out the 18 and one was suppose to come out today. Neither time have they showed up. I also dont have a cell so I can call them. The live chat never works because its always down. I will be ending my services and reporting them to the BBB. HOw hard is it for a **bleep** tech to show up?

Ditto! Verizon did come out to my place and said they fixed my phone line.....replaced a jack in my office......which now I cannot get  my DSL because the jack is DEAD! one working jack now, so either phone or internet my choice! phone line has much static and I hear other people on the line talking? kind of like a "party line" anyway I tried calling  Verizon back for two (2) straight hours. They never took my call. I tried several of their customer service numbers and waited on the phone for a very long time. I continued to call even after midnight when I finally got someone to answer my call.

I was told that they wouldn't be able to send someone out for a week! I live in the USA in California!  accessible easy to find area! I told the customer service person that  one week was unacceptable!  I really think Verizon can do better than this! she said that she would have them call me when the office opened on Friday morning........it never happened! so I called customer service once again on Friday.....took me about 40 minutes to get through this time.....I asked for a supervisor got put on hold.....no one ever answered so I called back again and finally did get a supervisor who told me that a repair person was in ROUTE to my house as we spoke! this was at 4:00 P.M. it's now 8:30 P.M. and I haven't seen the repair person yet! I don't think he's coming ya think?

I have tried online help at Verizon.....email, phone calls, I even let Verizon know that I have an elderly person with a heart condition and breathing problems living in the home! Verizon has shown no consern what so ever......for the health and safety of my family.  Having a land line in "working condition" is very important especially in an emergency situation!

I'm looking into other alternatives in providers now and possibly for my cell phone also which happens to be Verizon.

The worst customer service I have seen in a very long time!

Update: Just got off the phone with Verizon again I told the customer service person that at 4:00 P.M. I was told by a supervisor that the repair person was in route to my house and that it was now 11:00 P.M. and he had not shown up yet....I asked if he thought that they were still in route to my house and he said YES! they do work at night! OMG! now when someone asks me what my worst customer service experience  has been....hands down Verizon wins!!! (yes I have been asked this many times)

if you continously have problems with a technician coming out and they do not fix the line, request to speak with the Local Area Manager. That's going to be the head guy in your area who has the most power out there.

But Repair is 24/7 800-483-1000 (or just call the 800-VERIZON # and it can direct you to them too)

They should be able to have it taken care of, but just in case (as others posted seem to have problems with as well), you can request to speak with them. Any rep can help you get in contact with them. Call into a customer care center and they can help further advise you. Hope this helps!

I have the same problem! when it rains it seems to short out the phone line so I don't have a dial tone and when people try to call they get a busy signal, after two or three days of dry weather the problem goes away and I get a dialtone.

The Network Interface Device outside has no dialtone also so it's a Verizon Line issue.....

For some reason the DSL works fine so my guess is the water shorts out only part of the voltage and the other part works enough for DSL to function. I've read stories online of DSL working with only one of the copper wires connected! amazing..

Someone online suggested opening the NID and crossing the two wires to reset the electric flowing to the phone but I don't want to open the Verizon part of the box as it needs a special tool and all....

A Verizon Tech came out and tested the signal at the phone pole several weeks ago and said it was a line voltage issue and it was fixed for awhile but it's back again, probably a nick in a wire someplace down the street it's hard to tell really just want it fixed...

Seems to me Verizon should prorate the phone bill to compensate for the days service is not working, is that possible????

Within 24 hours of calling in the service request, Verizon found the fault and fixed it! Nice job thanks.....

It was a line short (water in the telephone line) on the way from residence to the Central Office about a mile away.

The tech fixed the problem and called to explain what went wrong and what was fixed 🙂  Great Service I say 🙂 Thanks again!

I hope everyone else has their problems of this sort fixed as quickly, if not satisfied keep calling them back or sending a online service request and include as much detailed of the problem as possible.   Rain can be a pain !!
