Porting from Vonage not possible to my region?

I read that there has been success in porting phone numbers from Vonage.

I had numbers with Verizon that were ported to Vonage in the past.

I want to port them back.

I have not moved. I have not discontinued service. It's the same FIOS service then that it is now.

We have attempted this porting no less than five times now over the last 8 weeks, each unsuccsseful.

At one point they said it was because I was trying to port two numbers at a time. They tried one at a time. That didn't work.

At another point they said it was because they didn't have my Vonage password. I gave them the Vonage password. That didn't work.

The most recent time, they said the billing address for Vonage was different than the billing address for Verizon. I gave them the Vonage billing address. That didn't work.

Today, they told me it just was not possible because of my region. 


I'm going to leave Verizon over this. Since when can you not port a number in? Especially when it is the number you ported out originally a few years ago?

Before I give up and move on to a different company, does anyone have a different experience and knows who to contact and what they need to say to them at Verizon, to be successful?

Your issue has been escalated to a Verizon agent. Before the agent can begin assisting you, they will need to collect further information from you. Please go to your profile page for the forum and scroll down the page to an area titled "My Support Cases". You can reach your profile page by clicking on your name located above your post, or at the top right of this page.

Under "My Support Cases" you will find a link to the private board where you and the agent may exchange information. The title of your post is the link. This should be checked on a frequent basis, as the agent may be waiting for information from you before they can proceed with any actions. To ensure you know when they have responded to you, you may subscribe to the case. At the top right of your support case there is a gear icon which provides a drop down menu with support case options. Click that and choose "subscribe". Please keep all correspondence regarding your issue in the private support portal.
