Removal of damaged old telephone pole

Hello,

I moved into my home in early 2019.

I've never attempted to activate the existing telephone line (POTS).

There is a jointly owned (between my local municipal electric company, and Verizon) telephone pole on my properly. The pole is old and damaged, and is not expected to last very long.  I just recently buried my electric and Comcast Internet service  (Fios is not available where I live) from the street to my house, so this telephone pole is no longer needed, and needs to be removed.  My local electric company said that they put a work order in with Verizon to remove the pole, but they couldn't (or wouldn't) provide me with the work order #.

Is there a way that I can get the status or ETA on this?

I have some major projects (landscaping, and driveway paving) that are currently suspended until this pole is removed.

Thank you very much for any assistance that you can provide.
