Security Alarm Connection.

I recently switched over from Optimum to Verizon. When the connection was changed, my security system wasn't changed over. I called to have a technician come back to carry it over. I was told I need to have the technician from the alarm company here at the same time (within a 2 hour window) in order to show the technician from Verizon how to wire it in. Really?
