I'm trying to set up voicemail on my home telephone and when I call, it says to enter my temporary passcode, but I don't have one. How do I get one so I can get my voicemails? I've tried calling Verizon but am put on hold and they don't answer.

not sure if they still do so but when I setup voicemail years ago it was the last 4 of your phone number.

yes last 4 digits of your phone number is the new temporary PIN to access and set up. My first message was Verizon explaining the VM system has been updated (my landline is not FIOS). ANd that I should have received a letter in the mail.
