Tech Support Issue

On 11/6/18 we had a wind storm & I lost both my power & landline. Power was restored within 6 hours but I still do not have my landline. Support is telling me that there will not be a tech here until 11/18/18. Why isn't there the proper support for this phone that I am paying almost $90 a month? This is so upsetting. I am a senior citizen & really depend on my landline. Is it time to give up & switch to my cell?
