My 93 yr old father lives alone & has randomly lost phone service to his landline since a phone line at the neighbor's was cut & repaired about 6 weeks ago. His phone is dead for a day or two & suddenly starts working again. The technician today told my father to call when his phone was out of service. My father's VA caregiver happened to be there and explained that was not possible because that landline is the only phone he has & he obviously cant call when the phone is out of service. The technician then told my 93 yr old father (who can't walk without assistance & uses a walker) to walk next door to a neighbors house to call Verizon. My father lives on a one acre lot & there are no sidewalks. That's an awful way to treat a geriatric veteran with limited mobility who depends on that phone for a lifeline.
