I am moving and can't get fios at my new address. I submitted my number port request 4 business days before my disconnect date figuring it would be more than enough time. Now after my request has been sitting for close to two weeks with Verizon, my operator (Tracfone) is saying Verizon will not release my number because it's been disconnected.
How do I get Verizon to fix this ? file FCC complaint?

Hello barbiduleny,
This community is meant mainly for peer-to-peer support. If you have not already done so, you should contact Verizon customer service directly about the status of your number.

Porting your number from one carrier to another closes the account with the carrier the number came from. If you must cancel the account, your number has to port before cancellation or as you've encountered, tthe number will not be released. In short, the number is yours until you stop paying for it, then it returns back to the available pool of numbers.
You will have to work with Verizon on this.
