Voicemail has never worked since switching to Verizon

When people call my home number, instead of going to voicemail a recording comes on saying "sorry that wasnt a valid number or grouplist number."
I don't see anything about troubleshooting this problem... anyone have the same problem?

sounds like your voicemail box is not built in the voicemail server. It's not finding your mailbox. Call them to have it rebuilt or it could also be that the forwarding telephone number to the voicemail server is the wrong one. Have them check both and repair it.
