What does VOICE MAIL and CALL FORWARDING have in common!

I have spent 3 days trumping to get my Vm fixed. I have always had it set to take a Vm after 5 rings! Well it is takes all phone calls directly to VM? After my last very exhausting discussion I just stopped when the so called Tech said it was because my call forwarding is turned OFF? Unless call forwarding has changed because I honestly never use it, but it is a means to forward calls to a different. Umber not to an answering machine! God help us all!

Looking at the "Fios Digital Voice User Guide", on page 33, there is a section labeled "Ring Count Change". There are two methods for making the change.....Phone or Online.

Which method has been tried and what happened? 🤔

I read this and changed the ring count.  This did not solve the issue. The main point here is a so called tech expert with Verizon clearly stated the problem was because the call forwarding was turned off, which clearly has nothing to do with VM. Thanks
