GS3100 and GS3200 + MoCa adapter or non-Verizon Extender?

I have a GS3100 router and a GS3200 extender on the other side of the house.  Two questions:

1. Are there any non-Verizon alternatives to the GS3200 that will do the same thing (that are cheaper?).

2. If we do not need to extend wifi and just want another ethernet port, can any moca 2.5 device be used?

There are extenders from different manufacturers such as Linksys that can be used to extend Internet service. The main difference is that non-Verizon extenders won't necessarily come with a coaxial cable (F) jack. They will connect to the router either by an Ethernet cable or coaxial cable in conjunction with adapters.

I do, actually, need the coax, the 3rd will be in a location with a coax but no ethernet nearby.

First of all, they are G3100 and E3200.

G3100 and E3200 are cheap relative to other consumer-grade gears of comparable specifications.

To make up the MoCA part, you need to invest in at least two MoCA 2.5 adapters, each costing $60.

If you don't need E3200's WiFi, then try MEA from VZ costing $99. It came with MoCA 2.5 to 4 Ethernet ports with one being 2.5GbE.

This is helpful and thanks for the correction!  So I can run two MoCA 2.5 adapters on the same house coax that the GS3100 and ES3200 are already running on?

You can have 16 MoCA nodes on a single frequency band. So 4 is nothing.
