Is FIOS' fiber optic signal encrypted from home junction box to verizon local distribution center?

Hi, I just came acros following video at Youtube which shows encrypted signal from home junction box to local verizon distributuion center can be secure. Do Verizon does it?

The Fiber transmission is in fact encrypted. It is a part of the GPON specification to use encryption as a precaution to prevent others from hacking ONTs to capture traffic on their PON. The same applies to Cable Internet, where BPI+ is used to encrypt traffic over a node so that a modem can only see what it is supposed to see, and not what is being broadcast to other modems.
