Question about the ONT box

It is my first time to install FIOS.

I will sign up for the Gigabit internet only.

Two questions I have:

1. Is the ONT box mandatory even if I only sign-up the Gigabit internet servive?

2. If so, does the ONT box need a 110v outlet?

I prefer to install the ONT box inside of my closet, but there is no 110v outet in it.
