What are the differences between the G1100 router and the G3100 router.
I can get the G1100 for under $100 and the G3100 is $300 so I would expect big differences

It is wifi 6(wireless AX) and also has better range. It is MoCA 2.5 which can do theoretical speeds of 2.5 Gbps. Unless you have any devices that support AX or MoCA 2.5 there is really no need to upgrade.

Thanks for the info. What is MoCA 2.5?
Is the range significantly better, I do have problems in some places of the house?

If you want to hardwire a device in a room with no ethernet but has coax you can use a MoCA adapter. MoCA 2.5 is the fastest version.
