Slow Uploads (Fios -> OVH)

I have Fios Gigabit in Boston. The Verizon speed tests show the correct advertised speeds (900/ 840). 

I have a dedicated server at OVH Canada BHS.

Downloads from server to my computer are good (250mbps), but, uploads are horrendous at around 30-40 mbps (considering i have 1gbps incoming on the server).

My current system is connected to the CR1000A router via Ethernet, running Windows 10. I am transferring files via FileZilla over sFTP. The server runs AlmaLinux 9, with BBR congestion control.

Where seems to be a problem? Is it at Verizon/ OVH?

I can only tell you my experience after being a Verizon Fios customer for a decade. Your issue is VERY likely to be the CR1000A router. It's marketed as this great 10 gbps router with all these new features. In real-world usage I found it to be about 10-20x slower than my old G1100 router I have been using since around 2016. I would try to see if you can get your hands on a G1100. Save yourself time and money and don't bother with the CR1000A. I had Verizon techs come out (multiple) and replace the ONT and assure me everything was working correctly while I showed them the HORRIBLE 50 mbps uploads I was getting to REAL-WORLD sites like Google Drive, not their useless Verizon speed test. I tried multiple CR1000A routers - all had the same issue. Sometimes it would be fixed for 1-10 minutes after multiple reboots, but the slow speeds always came back. After the tech and I swapped it out for the G1100 model that I used to have, everything went back to normal and now I get my 900 mbps uploads once again.

Could you upload something to Google Drive and see what's your speed?

Regarding CR1000A, there should not be an issue. Although I am sorry for the other user's experience, I would take the other user's sample size of one with a grain of salt.

My uploads now that I have the G1000 are 700-900 mbps. With the CR1000A they were about 50 mbps max. I also tried two different CR1000A routers and had the ONT swapped. I also have seen many other reports of slow upload speeds like I experienced with CR1000A, so I don't think the sample size is one. I also think a lot of customers miss the issues they might be having because the download speeds appear to be fine, and many users aren't power users like me who upload hundreds of GB of data regularly (and always monitor the speeds).
