I get stronger signals from my neighbors Xfibity services than I do from mine. If I use either a Samsung J36V phone or iPad2 downstairs from where the router is located, the service is usually slow, and eventually disconnects. Both devices : "Authentication Failure" or something to that effect. I have dowmloaded and installed your In Home Agent many times. It tells me to "try again later". Thats not funny. I would like to disagnose this myself, but am lacking the tools to do so. Any ideas? The Actiontec router is old, it could well be the same one from the original FIOS install? I have had FIOS since it became available, Model # M1424WR. RJM

Try this

It also states it is wireless “G” that is pretty old and slow. I would upgrade to a newer router. N, A, AC if possible.

If the FiOS router isn't at least an MI424WR Rev. I, it's time to upgrade.
Supposedly the Quantum G1100 router Verizon sells has worse range. But you may also benefit from having 5Ghz support. You can go with that or you can consider looking into a third party router solution. The third party router solution works best if you don't have FiOS TV, but if you do, be sure to keep the FiOS router in the mix someplace (whether keeping it as your primary router and disabling it's wireless, or just daisy chaining it off of your own router).
