Not much really. They are both Bonded MoCA 2.0 and they are both made by Actiontec. The difference with the $55 one offered by Verizon is it has 4 ethernet ports. The advantage of that is you can connect more devices without the need for an ethernet switch.
The reason the MoCA adapters are sold in pairs is for people who are using a non-MoCA router. In that case you need two. One at the router and another in the room you want to have a hardwired connection.
Verizon routers use MoCA to communicate with their set-top boxes. When using a Verizon router there is no need for two adapters. Verizon routers will communicate with up to 15 MoCA devices connected to the coaxial wiring.

Thx. Guess I will buy from Verizon again. It's the better price. Hard to believe.
