Bizarre problem with ethernet through router

Hi All

I've recently started noticing my wired connections becoming unstable. My set up is 1gb Fios using the G3100 router. Most connections are wifi but I have my PC hard wired. Lately ive noticed my wired connection to be very intermittent, but see no such problems over wifi. I figured this was a cabling issue, but after connecting my PC direct to the modem (so cutting the router out altogether) the problem resolves and the connection is rock solid. I've tried changing the router for a new one (no effect) and made sure that all other wifi connections are turned off to make sure the bandwidth isnt being drained elsewhere.

Any ideas? Really cant think of what else to do here

Try the workaround mentioned here.

If it doesn't help, revert the changes and other avenues can be explored. 🙂

Fios doesn't utilize modems. Are you direct connecting to the ONT? 🤔

Forgive me yes, that's what I meant. Direct to the ONT

Hmm...

I'm wondering if this is somehow related to the IPv6/Intel situation. 🤔

Is IPv6 active in your area and does the computer have an Intel NIC? 🤔

It is an Intel NIC. I am not sure how I can tell if IPV6 is active in my area but after some googling it does appear that I am connected to an IPV6 network. Is there a known solution to this issue? Is it as simple as disabling ipv 6?

That does seem to have fixed it. Thank you.

I should have just posted here first instead of running around replacing cables and routers lol.

I appreciate your help
