CR1000 and Netgear Orbi

We are upgrading our router as we had one of the old ActionTec routers.  That one was plugged into an Orbi mesh system.

I would like to do the same with the new CR1000 but cannot find any instructions on Verizon's website to do that.  I did find instructions on how to do it for the old ActionTec and then older Gateway routers but nothing on the new router.

Any suggestions?  I seem to recall on the older router, I had to go into network settings and make some changes on the router before the Orbi would work.

Did you ever figure out how to do this?

Do you have Fios TV?

Thee are a few ways to do this. If you do not have Fios TV and your ONT connects up to your old ActionTec via Coax (no Ethernet), you might want to run an Ethernet cable from your ONT, then ask Verizon to switch your ONT to use Ethernet. Often times the Reps helping you may be able to get you a faster speed for less money by doing this.

If you don't have Fios TV, and your ONT uses Ethernet to the ActionTec, you can simply connect your Orbi directly to the ONT.

If you have Fios TV, then the best way is to consider putting your Orbi into Bridge mode. The Verizon CR1000A will be hooked up in the same manner as your ActionTec, except the CR1000A will handle your Routing and the Orbi will support your wireless network. In this state, simply make sure to log into the Verizon router's admin pages and disable the WiFi on the Verizon router.

There are other methods, but these are the ways I personally recommend. Are you looking for something else?
