CR1000A poor upload speed July 2024

It's July 2024 are people still having issues with poor upload speed with this router? I pay 300up/300down, but the upload speed has almost always ranged from 15-30 Mbps. Sometimes i can get 150 Mbps. Tried resetting the router but no change. Called support and they say that when they run bandwidth tests it shows the 300/300. Tried wired (MacBook pro) and wireless devices (several Android and iphones) but I get same results. Tried disabling ipv6 on the router and computer but no change. Anyone have similar issues recently, and found a solution? I am trying to get this fixed for parents from a remote location. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I will be glad to take a look, facing some variant of this problem myself. I have sent you a private message.

Hello - I have noticed this problem in the last 7-10 days my wireless devices.  Either I have lower upload speeds than download, or vice versa.  When I would perform ANY speed test (verizon.com, ookla, etc) in the past, both up and download speeds were pretty close to identical.  I addressed this with a Verizon tech yesterday, when he replaced my ONT.   I wonder if there was a router update that messed things up.

BTW --- I have 1Gb up/down.

Wireless devices would be a last concern in terms of speeds.

What is your wired upload speed?

850-900mb wired upload.

BTW --- Verizon replaced my CR1000A with a new one.  I did a stress test, and though it is working OK, I still believe that there is still an issue.  I uploaded a number of 5+Gb video files, and it did not go as fast w/ wireless as it did before.

I have been reading that the CR1000A has issues, and people had to downgrade their routers.  I had to un-install and re-install 2 apps on my firestick, which is a few feet away from my router.

You should not needing to re-install any Firestick apps, that is unlikely caused by a network issue.

The speeds on CR1000A WiFi depends on the finicky wifi signal strength. If you are several feet from the router, the 6GHz band should give you near line speed of 940 Mbps. Upload should be at least 700 Mbps. I need to say in my own testing (too far from an empirical setting), the G3100's 5GHz WiFi 6 is comparable to CR1000A's 6GHz WiFi 6E, for whatever reasons. CR1000A's 5GHz WiFi 6 is about 13% lower of that of the G3100's high 5GHz band.

This could be an antenna positioning difference in the plastic casing, but obviously one can't get all the possible perks.
