Previously had Fios Internet/TV/Phone - elected to upgrade to Gigabit Internet only without TV/Phone. New router (Model CR1000B was installed and internet seems to be working fine. Device map shows all devices and correct status wrt what is/isn't connected to WiFi network.
However, attempting to send emails via Thunderbird email client, the email is not sent, times out, and gives the following error message "Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.verizon.net was lost in the middle of the transaction. Try again." This happens from both my desktop (connected to router via ethernet cable) and a laptop (connected vi wifi). SMTP server settings were not touched (smtp,verizon.net, Port 465, SSL/TLS).
I am able to go to mail.aol.com compose email and send from there, which I suspect bypasses the outgoing mail server(?). No problem receiving email.
I don't believe the upgrade to gigabit ethernet or the installation of a new router should have had any impact, but it clearly has.
Would appreciate any thoughts on how tor rectify.
